Our client is a financial institution based in downtown Toronto. They are seeking a strong candidate for Senior Credit Risk Analyst (6-month Contract)
This role is based in York Region.
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst is accountable for ensuring high-quality credit risk assessment for loan products. Responsibilities include managing applications, loan quality audits, portfolio performance reports, partner monitoring, compliance assistance, and secondary loan reviews. You have a solid credit background, can identify trends to improve portfolio performance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of administration and monitoring of established credit facilities and maintain independent responsibility for the input, monitoring and escalation of risk elements on complex credit portfolios with minimal supervision.
- Complete thorough, in-depth analysis of new credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual reviews.
- Perform customer credit rating reviews.
- Ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report to Manager and credit administration team as needed for timely resolution
- Review loan files to ensure compliance, maintain the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of credit experience in financial sector in Canada
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or relevant areas with CFA, FRM or CPA designation is preferred.
- Oil and gas, mining and energy, equipment manufacturing, transportation, wholesale, corporate, commercial and residential lending, real estate, or syndicated loan analysis experiences are preferred.
- Exposure to upper middle market / commercial banking and leverage finance in a lead and co-lead syndicate position.
- Comprehensive understanding of lending policies and procedures, financial analysis principles, risk assessment techniques, credit deal structuring, collateral and security documentation and registration requirements, and related regulatory requirement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
