JUNIOR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Our client is a foundry situated in Montreal and is presently looking for a bilingual Junior Manufacturing Engineer or Technologist. Our client is seeking a dynamic individual who has good communication skills with an inquisitive personality. You will write procedures and techniques for manufacturing based on client drawings and specifications. You will troubleshoot problems with the fabrication of the various parts and provide workable solutions. You will also work with the clients and their contracts to assure that the final product meets the standards and specifications laid out, with possible changes too. Although most of the time you will be in an engineering office environment, you will need to be on the shop floor at times where the environment can be very noisy. As such, our client needs a practical hands-on engineer or technologist.
As the Junior Manufacturing Engineer / Technologist, you must have a B.Eng Mechanical Engineering or perhaps a Metallurgical Engineering degree with at 1-4 years of experience preferably all within a manufacturing environment. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and 3D Modelling. Experience that is not essential but preferred is Catia, Inventor, knowledge of NADCAP and AS9100 standards, investment casting experience, and exposure to a machine shop environment. Some of the soft skills cited by our client are to be organized, possess good judgement, be diligent at following up, be detail-oriented, have an innovative mindset, think outside the box, interested in development, understand tooling and machining, be able to coordinate with machine shops, be a problem spotter, observant, have attention to detail, be good at report writing), curious and personable.
