Description
Our client is a financial institution based in downtown Toronto. They are seeking a strong candidate for Manager AML Reporting (6-month Contract)
This role is based Toronto downtown.
Responsibilities:
- The person needs at least 5-8 years in AML showing progressive growth from investigator (KYC and Transaction Monitoring) to moving into management in AML reporting
- The person will be responsible for all AML reporting – to the regulator and internally to management. Activities include:
- the governance and oversight of all AML activities for the purposes of tracking performance and maintaining metrics to support it (e.g., volume of alerts, production ratios (false positives, # escalated, speed, backlog, etc.)
- reviewing/assessing appropriateness of STRs for purpose of approving prior to submission
- ownership of polices and procedures related to AML reporting (e.g. policies on reasonable grounds to suspect, red flags/High Risk triggers, etc.)
- ownership of controls related to reporting, including oversight over data integrity
- remaining current on operational alerts, evolving AML risks, to initiate adjustments/fine tuning to red flags/high risk triggers used in ongoing monitoring for reporting purposes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or law is required.
- Minimum 5 years of Canadian experience and leadership in managing AML within a regulated business
- Banking, financial services industry experience is required
- Professional certification (e.g. CFA, MBA, CAMS, CFCS, FIS, CFE, CCEP, CCFC, CRC, CBP and CCI)
- Expert knowledge of legislation and regulation relating to AML
- Knowledge about the industry practices and professional standards in relation to AML regulations, and experience with regulators
- Exceptional ability to work closely with other areas of the business (including business executives) to gather required information and inputs
- Unique ability to manage a large and varied workload and exercise excellent judgment, analytical rigour and commercial pragmatism
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively and work collaboratively with individuals at senior management levels
