Position: Legal Assistant
Location: Downtown Montreal
Salary: 25$ per hour
Contract: Maternity leave replacement with strong possibility of becoming permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Are you ready to take the next step in your legal career or administration ? A prestigious law firm nestled in the heart of downtown Montreal is on the lookout for a Legal Assistant to join their dynamic team.
If you bring experience as a legal assistant or in administration, particularly within the legal sector, and you have impeccable typing skills, we want to hear from you!
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to directly support two dedicated lawyers, contributing to the success of their practice and enhancing your own professional growth along the way.

We would love to meet you:
- Proficient in both English and French languages to support clients from outside Quebec region
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant; Legal experience preferred
- Strong typing skills required
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients, handle confidential information, work independently and prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro desired.
- Experience with dictaphone (strong asset)
Main Responsabilities:
- Transcribe dictated correspondence and legal documents;
- Revise documents and correspondence to ensure that they comply with legal procedures and
grammatical usage
- Prepare and draft various documents related to law (procedures, notices, etc.) and revision of procedures;
- Manage the agenda and coordinate the meetings of two lawyers while respecting deadlines and ensure a rigorous follow-up of files and management of schedules.
- Regularly follow up on files and update of the court agenda
- Perform various searches: conflicts of interest, Registraire des entreprises, Court records, Land Registry, RDPRM, Superintendent of Bankruptcies, etc.
- Assembly of procedures, exhibits, authorities binders;
- Manage the opening, paper and electronic filing, follow-up and organization of Court files.
- Perform other related duties
