Description
The incumbent is responsible for all functions related to finance & HR. The function of measuring all financial data in order to provide information on trends to the senior management to facilitate their decision making. They are also responsible for the accounting operations of the company. They make sure the company complies with government regulations and tax requirements. The incumbent is responsible for the HR department. To perform & supervise all activities performed by HR. To ensure the procedures and policies are effective. Finally, they supervise all activities performed by various departments to ensure efficient function & communication throughout the company.
• Producing periodic financial statements and reports
• Reporting weekly and monthly analysis to Senior management team
• Providing financial analysis upon request
• Coordinating the preparation of annual external audits
• Monitoring the line of credit and the annual budget
• Issuing yearly tax reports and payments
• Overseeing the inventory activities (physical count)
• Calculating the production cost
• Coordinating with the Buyers regarding pricing accuracy
• Coordinating with the Contract administrator for billing discrepancies
• Collecting accounts receivable
• Ensuring payment of accounts payable and GST-QST
• Providing information when required to Payroll supplier for payroll processing to administrative staff
• Verifying payroll data for production staff
• Producing yearly reports for taxable benefits to employees
• Negotiating renewals of services : insurance, mutual, leases
• Conducting reconciliation of bank accounts
• Performing day-to-day accounting transactions
• Development policies and procedures for Human Resources. Hiring policies, labour requirements, retention, retirement & succession plan
• Enhancement of employee training programs & skills development
• Development of Manager /Supervisor Trainings
• Development of training manuals
• Enhancement of employee evaluations
• Enhancement of Employee Satisfaction & Culture
• Development of Leadership & Mentor programs
• Improvement of communication procedures
• Development of tools or software to support procedures & trainings
• Verifying that all procedures & protocols comply with Union agreement
• Union Relations & Negotiations
• Conflict Management
• Performing other related duties as needed
Education, experience, knowledge and skills
• College or University diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
• 5-10 years of relevant HR / Operations experience in a small company, ideally manufacturing
• Knowledge of income and sales taxes
• Knowledge of the industry is an asset
• Management & Leadership Experience
• Proficient with Computer (Word, Excel, in-house software, payroll applications, Internet)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bilingual (French and English)

• Visits to the plant, safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are required
