One of our Government clients is looking for an Audio-Visual Technical Analyst (Govt. exp)
Length: 9 months contract, with high possibility extensions
Location: Remote, Alberta - weekly on-site meeting, as well as potential site visits where warranted.
Working hours: 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
An Audio/Video Technical Analyst is required to help with Hybrid Worker's Productivity Project. We need them to help the team for the below work:
• Upgrade PC's/laptops of targeted users and/or buildings
• Upgrade boardrooms in identified buildings (TBD)
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
Responsible for taking business requirements and translating them into technical requirements and solutions.
• Create project documents and associated planning documents.
• Create stakeholder analyses.
• Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
• Create business requirements, functional specifications and technical requirements.
• Create new business and technical processes and complete business process reviews/re-engineering for existing processes.
• Facilitate business process improvement sessions.
• Assist in the development of new IT services.
• Schedule, organize and lead project status meetings and other meetings as required.
• Provide support by bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams.
• Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options and recommendations.
• Responsible for business architecture design, software system specifications design, and database modelling.
• Participate iterative development using model-based processes.
• Perform project management, business and technical analysis and systems design in delivering complex software solutions spanning n-tier development environments.
• Produce project artifices with XML; UML and/or other web-services technologies.
• Prepare, update and manage documents defining the business requirements, software requirements, functional design, and project plans and schedules reflecting achievable deliverables for the applications.
• Prepare regular project status reports indicating project deliverables, possible risk and issues, time-lines and anticipated effort.
• Ensure appropriate project communication occurs to all parties involved during all phases of the project.
• Identify required user training.
• Additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager for a Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst role.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Provide technical expertise for the creation construction drawing packages as well as support documentation for AV installations
• Provide technical expertise to support base building tasks in the planning of audio, video, and control solutions
• Ability to conceptualize system designs and determine AV system requirements from project to physical implementation
• Oversee and/or develop the Bill of Materials (BOM), Statements of Work (SOW) and supporting documentation
• Create functional AV system descriptions, block wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and cable assemblies
• Experience working with Project managers, solution developers, and construction design specialists throughout project phases
• Able to create, and complete as-built drawings
• Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients and projects
• Experience fabricating, terminating, and installing racks for deployment and AV ceiling, flown, and wall installations
• Experience providing accurate project documentation and training for end-users
• Experience installing and configuring video conference hardware such as Cisco, POLY, Logitech, and at least two collaboration platforms (Teams, WebEx, Zoom,)
• Experience, or demonstrable training with DSP platforms, AV control systems, AV over IP platforms (Biamp, QSC, Clearone, Evertz, AMX, Creston etc.)
• Awareness of Alberta safety protocols and best practices
• Relevant AV certifications or training such as CTS certification (AVIXA CTS-D is preferred)
• Test, commission, and configure AV systems
• Support various IT and construction projects teams in the build phase
• Occasional travel is required
MUST HAVES:
• University graduation in business, management or a related discipline and 2-yr Technical Analyst experience; OR
• 2-yr diploma in business, management or a related discipline and 4-yr Technical Analyst experience; OR
• 1-yr certificate in business, management or a related discipline and 5-yr Technical Analyst experience; OR
• 6-yr Technical Analyst experience
• Experience designing, planning, and implementing audio visual technology solutions in an Technical Analyst capacity for an environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting audio visual technologies.
