THE ROLE:

Are you looking for work in a very dynamic and exciting opportunity with a great company? This Assistant Controller position might be the job for you! Our client requires the support of a passionate, hands-on Assistant Controller for a 15-month engagement.

Typical duties include:
- Participate and review month end closing duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepares and reviews timely and accurate financial reports
- Analyze management reporting package; highlight major variances and unusual transactions to senior management
- Coordinates external audit for annual audit process
- Oversee operations accounting team; mentor, and review work performed by direct reports
- Review of all equipment rentals and inventory as required

ABOUT YOU:

With over five years of dedicated experience in financial accounting, including two years in a supervisory capacity, you bring a wealth of expertise to the table. Holding a professional accounting designation in good standing, you are committed to upholding the highest standards of excellence in your work. Your skill set is characterized by strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and effective leadership abilities. Proficient in Excel and experienced with ERP systems, you excel in navigating complex financial data and systems. You are adept at preparing and reviewing timely financial reports and analyzing management reporting packages to identify major variances and unusual transactions, effectively communicating these insights to senior management. With a proven track record of delivering results and driving operational excellence, you are poised to contribute effectively to any financial team.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and 2 years in a supervisory role
- Professional accounting designation in good standing
- Strong communication, attention to detail and leadership skills
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel and experience in an ERP system, preferable SAP BI
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
