US GAAP Conversion Consultant (Part-Time Contract)

Location: Fully Remote, EST preferred

Duration: approximately 3 months

Work Model: Part-time hours – approx. 20 hours per week - EST

The Opportunity

Our client, is seeking a US GAAP Conversion Consultant to support an IFRS-to-US GAAP conversion project.

Working closely with senior finance leadership and external advisors, you will help prepare technical accounting memos, quantify accounting differences, and support key financial reporting conversion activities. This engagement is intended to provide hands-on execution support and specialized U.S. GAAP expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical accounting memos and supporting analyses for IFRS-to-U.S. GAAP differences.
• Document accounting conclusions, rationale, and quantification of impacts for assigned areas.
• Lead memo preparation and quantification support in key areas including derivatives and hedging and income taxes.
• Perform quantification of IFRS-to-U.S. GAAP differences in areas including intangible assets, employee benefits, business combinations, foreign currency, and provisions and contingencies.
• Calculate and quantify accounting adjustments for identified IFRS-to-U.S. GAAP differences.

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred, open to other designations and experience
• Strong U.S. GAAP technical accounting expertise.
• Working knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience preparing technical accounting memos and position papers.
• Big 4 audit, advisory, or accounting consulting experience is a strong asset.
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with minimal supervision.
