Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Relocation Specialist to support a same-day office move involving a physical server rack and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring experience with data center equipment handling, rack & stack, and cabling to ensure a smooth and low-risk transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely decommission and de-rack server and network equipment from the existing site
• Assist with the physical relocation of a full server rack and components (including sensitive hardware such as SAN devices)
• Ensure proper handling and transport of equipment to avoid damage
• Perform rack & stack at the new location (new rack ~80 inches)
• Reconnect and re-cable equipment (servers, switches, SAN, etc.)
• Support power-up and basic validation to confirm systems come back online
• Coordinate with internal team on sequencing and setup requirements

Required Experience

• Proven experience with IT infrastructure moves or data center relocations
• Strong hands-on experience with Server rack installations (rack & stack), Network and server cabling and handling enterprise hardware (servers, SAN/storage, switches)
• Familiarity with equipment safety, labeling, and documentation best practices
• Ability to work efficiently within a tight downtime window

Nice to Have

• Experience with large/enterprise SAN equipment (deep rack setups ~39”)
• Basic knowledge of networking and server bring-up
• Experience working in small-to-mid-sized data center/server room environments

Additional Details

• This is a short-distance move (within the same block)
• Environment involves 1 rack of equipment with some heavier and sensitive components
• Team will be on-site to support but requires a technical lead/experienced resource to execute properly
