Robert Half is seeking a skilled Stand Alone Payroll Specialist for one of our valued clients. The ideal candidate has comprehensive payroll expertise, strong compliance background, and thrives working independently within a structured environment.

• Independently process end-to-end payroll for a multi-location, multi-province employee base of 200+ in compliance with federal/provincial legislation
• Calculate and remit all government and third-party deductions, including taxes, garnishments, pension, and benefits.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll data entry, reconciliation, and reporting through your expertise in leading payroll systems.
• Prepare and file year-end documentation (T4s, ROEs, etc.) and support audits as needed.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate interdepartmentally with HR, Finance, and external auditors, offering payroll support and guidance.

• Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist
• Experience in multi-province payroll processing within Canada required
• Proficiency with payroll systems
• Strong knowledge of employment standards and payroll legislation
• Advanced attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
