Sr. Financial Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and business decision-making for a Toronto, Ontario-based team. This role focuses on translating financial and operational data into clear insights, strengthening reporting processes, and partnering with stakeholders to improve performance. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability to deliver accurate analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial analyses that help leaders assess results, identify trends, and support strategic decisions.
• Develop, maintain, and refine reports and dashboards using available reporting tools to improve visibility into financial and operational performance.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities by gathering inputs, validating assumptions, and consolidating financial information.
• Lead the development, coordination, and consolidation of annual operating budget in-year forecasts.
• Partner with clinical program leaders to develop realistic, evidence-based budgets aligned with operational plans.
• Provide budget to-actual variance analysis, identifying key cost drivers, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Support monthly financial close, year-end activities, including audit-ready financial packages, ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial results.
• Serve as a strategic financial advisor, translating financial data into operational insights for leaders and executives.
• Support business case development, service planning and resource allocation decisions.
• Optimize and assess financial/operational performance by leveraging internal data.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, funding optimization, and cost management.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing required.
• Proven experience in a senior financial analysis role with responsibility for reporting, planning, and performance review.
• Strong understanding of budgeting processes, forecasting methods, and financial analysis best practices.
• 4 yrs of more of progressive financial analysis experience (preferably in public sector).
• Demonstrated ability to perform ad hoc analysis and present findings clearly to business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in analyzing large datasets using structured problem-solving and data mining techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate information and maintain high reporting accuracy.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience supporting cross-functional business partners.
