Sr. Financial Analyst

We are looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join a manufacturing organization in Markham, Ontario for a 3 to 6 month contract with the potential to become permanent. This position is well suited to a finance specialist who thrives in a hands-on reporting environment and brings strong experience in consolidation work across multiple business units. The successful candidate will support both recurring management reporting and external financial reporting while helping bring clarity to complex financial data from diverse sources.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end and periodic consolidation activities across multiple business units, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and well supported.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership, lenders, and year-end audit requirements, with careful attention to completeness and consistency.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries to support a reliable roll-up of enterprise-wide financial results.
• Analyze weekly and monthly performance trends, including working capital metrics, and communicate key findings to finance leadership.
• Work with data from several systems, tables, and reporting structures to produce meaningful financial insights and dependable reporting outputs.
• Support reporting processes tied to newly integrated operations and varying regional reporting requirements, including Canadian and European entities.
• Develop and refine spreadsheet-based models and reports to improve the efficiency and accuracy of consolidation activities.
• Contribute to reporting enhancements and support future business intelligence initiatives, including the use of Power BI where applicable.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience handling financial consolidations in a multi-entity environment.
• Strong background in financial reporting, including support for lender reporting and year-end audit deliverables.
• Proven ability to manage intercompany accounting and elimination entries across several business units.
• Advanced Excel skills with experience working through manual reporting processes and large data sets.
• Solid understanding of management reporting, variance analysis, and working capital reporting.
• Experience working with complex financial data from multiple systems or reporting platforms.
• Power BI exposure is considered an asset.
• Ability to work on-site in Markham, Ontario in a permanent office environment.
