Our Not-for-Profit client seeks a Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract. In this role you will oversee all aspects of project financial accounting, monitoring, reporting, and audit preparation.

The Financial Analyst’s duties will include: 

·      Performing month-end/year-end closings, sub-ledger balancing, payment verification, exchange rate calculations, journal entries, and chart of accounts maintenance

·      Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

·      Preparing donor financial reports in compliance with funding requirements

·      Preparing project working papers, reconciling accounts for audits, and supporting audit processes.

·      Providing variance analysis, creating project budgets and forecasts, and contributing to new project proposal development.

·      Other duties as required

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 

·      Post-secondary education in a relevant field

·      At least three years of relevant experience, ideally in the not-for-profit/international development sector

·      Advanced Excel proficiency and experience accounting systems (eg. MS Dynamics GP, SAGE 50, Netsuite).

·      Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

·      Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and proactively in a multicultural setting.

·      Prior experience supporting audits and ensuring internal controls.

·      Fluency in English and French required
