Senior Financial Analyst - Contract Opportunity located in to Toronto, Ontario




Robert Half is looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to be part of a thriving company. Some of your responsibilities in this role include running financial modeling on a number of financial products and measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will be charged with advising management on the allocation of resources to accomplish objectives in a timely manner and preparing reports for management. As part of a dynamic team, you will be a key business partner in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst role is based in Toronto, Ontario and will require you to work fully on site (no opportunity for remote/hybrid). This will be a 6+ month contract employment opportunity. We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in financial analysis.




Your responsibilities in this role:
- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Work closely with business partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
- Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
- Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively
- Produce and monitor forecasting reports
- Ideal candidate would have an adaptable nature and experience dealing with vast amounts of information while exceeding expectations
- Study performance to date and examine potential risks and opportunities
- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
- Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support


- 3+ years of Senior Financial Analysis experience required
- Good background in Accounting
- Strong MS Excel abilities including Pivot Tables, V-lookups, and Macros
- Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
- Foundational knowledge in variance analysis
- Solid understanding of financial analysis
- Budget forecasting experience
- Background in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly valued (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
