Senior Financial Analyst, Regulatory Reporting

Contract: 1-year contract with immediate start.  

Location: hybrid, 3 days onsite in Downtown office, Toronto ON

Pay: 40-45/h T4

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established Canadian financial services organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Regulatory Reporting to join their Finance team on a 12-month contract basis.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in regulatory reporting within a federally regulated financial institution, particularly involving OSFI and/or Bank of Canada reporting requirements. Strong financial reporting professionals with exposure to complex reporting environments will also be considered.

The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to a large-scale business transformation project, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to both ongoing operations and strategic organizational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings to federal and provincial regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting deadlines.
• Support current and future regulatory disclosure requirements to maintain a strong corporate governance and compliance framework.
• Perform detailed analysis and validation of reporting data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls surrounding regulatory reporting processes.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, including automation, workflow enhancements, and reporting transformation projects.
• Support system implementations, integration activities, and regulatory reporting enhancements associated with major business initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Treasury, and other stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are met efficiently and accurately.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA) is required.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of progressive experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, accounting, or audit within banking, lending, or financial services environments.
• Direct experience with OSFI and/or Bank of Canada reporting requirements is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with strong financial reporting backgrounds in complex, regulated environments will also be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
• Experience supporting regulatory, financial, or business transformation initiatives is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including complex data analysis, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, and reporting models.
• Experience with Alteryx, Power Query, or similar automation and data transformation tools is highly desirable.
• Exposure to financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, and reporting automation technologies is considered an asset.
