THE ROLE:

Our Edmonton-based client is seeking a Contract Senior Accountant to support their growing team and play a key role in financial reporting, month-end close, and analysis. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with operational leaders, provide valuable financial insights, and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of the organization's financial operations.

What You'll Do:

• Complete month-end close activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Reconcile complex accounts and investigate variances to ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and decision support.
• Support ongoing accounting and financial reporting requirements as needed.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work collaboratively across an organization. You are comfortable working independently in a contract environment, managing competing priorities, and communicating financial information clearly to both finance and operational stakeholders.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation preferred or currently working toward completion.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience through to the financial reporting level.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet reporting deadlines.
