We are seeking a Senior Accountant with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of finance, offering visibility into strategy, operations, and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly accounting cycle, including accounting, analysis, and month-end entries.
• Develop and recommend accounting models for new transactions using accounting principles.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with procedures and produce accurate financial information for leadership.
• Analyze and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules for management reports.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports for senior management and boards or committees as needed.
• Assist in resolving reconciling items in account reconciliations.
• Lead year-end external audit processes and coordinate with actuaries.
• Serve as an expert for general ledger reporting tools and maintain related accounting modules.
• Support finance team members with system issues, user acceptance testing, and financial system development as required.
• Assist with cash management and participate in ad hoc projects or initiatives.

Qualifications:

• CPA designation and at least five years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with ERP systems and multiple integrations is an asset.
• Insurance industry experience and knowledge of IFRS 17 are assets.
• Ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet.
