Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post month-end journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Assist in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop lead schedules, including fixed asset continuity and accrued expense schedules.
• Maintain tax continuity schedules and support various tax reconciliations, including income tax, retail sales tax, harmonized sales tax, and insurance premium tax.
• Facilitate management reporting and contribute to regulatory filing processes.
• Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial results.
• Support the year-end external audit by preparing necessary documentation and schedules.
• Minimum of three years' experience in full-cycle accounting.
• Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards and practices is considered an asset.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail with a commitment to confidentiality.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
