THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract. This position will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end activities, accounting operations, audit requirements, and business analysis. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a hands-on approach, and the ability to deliver meaningful financial insights to support decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial variance reviews
• Prepare monthly financial reports, management reporting packages, KPI analysis, and financial statements
• Support capital asset accounting, including asset tracking, depreciation calculations, reconciliations, and disposals
• Assist with cash management activities, banking reconciliations, cash forecasting, and financial reporting
• Participate in inventory count processes and related accounting analysis
• Coordinate and support year-end and external audit requirements
• Perform financial analysis and provide accounting support across operational and corporate finance activities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and provide actionable financial insights

ABOUT YOU:

You are a designated Canadian CPA with 5 to 10 years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience and a passion for delivering accurate, insightful financial information. You excel at analyzing financial data, clearly explaining the story behind the numbers, and providing thorough supporting documentation when required. You are detail-oriented, accountable, and confident working with stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Known for your collaborative mindset and strong communication skills, you build positive working relationships while maintaining the confidence to work effectively with diverse personalities and leadership styles.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation
• 5-10 years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to explain financial findings, assumptions, and support documentation clearly
• Experience preparing financial statements, management reports, and KPI analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP
• Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and variance analysis
• Knowledge of capital asset accounting and inventory-related accounting processes
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Collaborative approach with a willingness to support the broader team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and confidently work with a variety of personalities
