THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Advisor – SAP Consolidations to support critical transformation initiatives within a complex finance environment. This contract role will play a key part in ensuring accurate consolidation outcomes during periods of organizational change, including acquisitions, divestitures, and evolving reporting requirements. In this position, you will work closely with finance and IT teams to execute configuration updates within SAP consolidation systems, ensuring proper treatment of entities and transactions. You will spend significant time in testing environments validating system behavior, setting critical flags, and confirming that financial results align with expectations before deployment.

Key focus areas include:

• Supporting system configuration and testing within SAP consolidation tools
• Managing consolidation impacts related to acquisitions, divestitures, and ownership changes
• Executing and validating key system flags (e.g., divestiture, method changes, first-time consolidation)
• Partnering with IT by advising on appropriate configuration and system design
• Ensuring accurate financial reporting outcomes during transitions, including GAAP changes and consolidation method updates
• Contributing to a high-volume, fast-paced environment requiring precision and strong coordination

You are a technically strong consolidation expert with deep SAP experience and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. You thrive in complex, evolving environments and bring a collaborative mindset, with a strong emphasis on communication and stakeholder alignment. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, working through testing cycles, and ensuring accurate, timely results under pressure.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation)
• Extensive experience in financial consolidations within complex organizations
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP BCS (Business Consolidation System)
• Exposure to SAP Group Reporting considered a strong asset
• Ability to advise IT teams on system configuration and consolidation logic
• In-depth understanding of consolidation events (e.g., divestitures, acquisitions, ownership changes, and method adjustments)
• Experience working extensively in test environments prior to system execution
• Strong communication skills with a proactive, over-communicative approach and frequent stakeholder check-ins
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-change environment
• Experience in the energy, utilities, or infrastructure industry is considered an asset
