We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a manufacturing organization East of Vancouver, British Columbia. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a finance specialist who thrives in a manufacturing setting and brings strong expertise in financial reporting, inventory, and cost accounting. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate period-end reporting, support operational decision-making through financial analysis, and help improve accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Oversee period-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and investigating fluctuations across key balances.

• Analyze product costing and manufacturing expenses, including inventory valuation, production tracking, and cost performance trends.

• Work closely with plant and operations leaders to assess inventory activity, production costs, and the main factors influencing manufacturing spend.

• Support inventory accounting by completing reconciliations, assisting with cycle counts and physical counts, reviewing reserves, and maintaining costing accuracy.

• Examine manufacturing variances, allocation methods, and inventory transactions to strengthen the reliability of financial information.

• Provide accounting support for system and process enhancement initiatives, including workflow mapping, user testing, and implementation activities tied to inventory and costing functions.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, with particular attention to manufacturing-related accounts, inventory balances, and cost accounting entries.

• Assist with year-end reporting and external audit requirements by preparing schedules, coordinating documentation, and responding to audit requests.

• Contribute to integration work related to an acquired business operating on a different ERP, while helping enhance internal controls and improve accounting efficiency

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.

• Hands-on experience managing month-end close processes and supporting accurate financial reporting.

• Demonstrated understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and variance analysis in a production setting.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare meaningful reports.

• Experience working with ERP platforms.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with operational stakeholders and external auditors.

• A detail-oriented accounting designation or comparable senior accounting experience is considered a strong asset.
