We are looking for a Senior Accountant, M& A Integration to join our client’s team on a Contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting specialist who can help bring newly acquired businesses into alignment with established financial practices, reporting expectations, and control standards. The role calls for a strong foundation in technical accounting, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and support accounting integration activities following acquisitions to help ensure stable financial operations and a seamless transition into the broader organization.
• Review and document end-to-end finance processes to assess current workflows, clarify controls, and identify areas requiring alignment.
• Partner closely with teams across finance and other functions to build effective working relationships and coordinate integration priorities.
• Work with acquired businesses to bring accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting practices in line with corporate standards and IFRS requirements.
• Assist with the movement and validation of financial information into corporate systems, ensuring accuracy and timely execution throughout the integration process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, including support for opening balance reviews and purchase accounting adjustments.
• Drive consistency across entities by harmonizing chart of accounts structures and standardizing core accounting procedures.
• Identify control or process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and governance.
• Respond to audit-related requests by gathering support, explaining integration-related accounting treatments, and coordinating with internal and external auditors.

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated CPA with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

In addition, the following skills and experience are desired:

• Experience with the integration of acquired companies 

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and understanding of public company reporting requirements

• Experience with various ERP systems, M& A/post-merger financial systems integration, and AI-powered tools are assets

• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy 

• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills – able to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and written

• Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with great attention to detail.

• Able to work efficiently in a high paced, fast changing work environment

• Advanced Excel skills
