Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, period-end close, reconciliations, compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and reporting processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.

Cash Management, Audit & Compliance

• Monitor banking activity and support cash flow reporting.
• Oversee payment controls and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare GST/PST filings and maintain supporting schedules.
• Coordinate year-end audit requirements and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and regulatory compliance.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Support financial systems administration, upgrades, and testing.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation.
• Assist with finance transformation and automation initiatives.

Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with AP, AR, payroll, and operational teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Provide financial insights and reporting support to management.
• Mentor junior team members and review work as required.
• Support finance leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives.

• Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation completed or in progress preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and full-cycle accounting.
• Experience with audits, GST/PST filings, and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience in a multi-entity or complex business environment is an asset.
