THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team and play a key role in financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and stakeholder management. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Complete journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
• Manage intercompany transactions and related accounting activities
• Support financing draws, capital calls, and project cash management
• Prepare GST filings and assist with tax compliance requirements
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
• Collaborate with lenders, investors, partners, and external auditors
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and audit support
• Review accounting work completed by junior team members
• Provide mentorship and guidance to two direct reports
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen financial controls

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
• CPA designation is considered an asset
• 4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong experience preparing financial statements and financial reports
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas
• Experience with Yardi is considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex problems
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Proven ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
