THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their growing team for a contract position located in the Calgary area. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership of financial processes, and is comfortable supporting both accounting and operational functions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities across multiple business entities
• Perform daily credit card reconciliations and review vendor invoices for accuracy
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding customer payments
• Support cash flow planning, payroll funding, and payment prioritization decisions
• Process payroll and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
• Assist with project administration including project setup, document management, and agreement tracking
• Coordinate with field teams and vendors regarding project materials and operational requirements

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Solid experience (3+ years) in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
• Payroll processing experience
• Project accounting or project-based business experience
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and Lookups
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Self-starter who can work independently and adapt to changing priorities, tech-savvy, and highly organized
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills
• Confident, proactive, and eager to learn within a growth-oriented organization
• Experience with RBC Express or other electronic banking platforms is preferred
• Exposure to construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or project-based industries is a definite asset
