The Opportunity

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting a fast-paced and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile and maintain assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepare, upload, and maintain accounting entries and supporting workpapers.
• Document and maintain internal controls related to assigned responsibilities.
• Partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams to provide accurate and timely financial information.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances as required.
• Assist with process improvements and special projects.
• Support a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA. (We verify that all candidates are in good standing with CPA Ontario before consideration for the opportunity).
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance is preferred.
• Experience working within a large corporate or public company environment is an asset.
• Audit experience in a Big 4 or Big 6 CPA firm is a preferred asset.
