Our client, a well-established and highly respected organization within the financial services sector, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA (or near CPA) coming from public practice or a regulated financial services environment who is eager to make an impact in a dynamic, collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working with highly regulated entities—such as financial institutions, insurance companies, or brokerages—and has a strong grasp of compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Strengthen and enhance internal controls within a regulated environment

• Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS

• Partner with external auditors by preparing working papers and responding to audit requests

• Prepare regulatory filings and reports required by governing bodies

• Assist with tax compliance by compiling year-end tax working papers

• Analyze financial results, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams

• Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements

What You Bring

• CPA designation (or near completion)

• 3–5+ years of experience in public practice or financial services industry roles

• Experience working with or auditing regulated entities (financial institutions, insurance, brokerages)

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and regulatory reporting

• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial systems

• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking

• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across teams

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
