Our client is looking for a proactive Purchasing Specialist to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role supports the delivery of compliant, transparent, and value-driven procurement activities from planning through contract administration. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, building effective stakeholder relationships, and contributing to efficient and cost-effective purchasing outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement for goods and services, from planning through contract administration.
• Prepare solicitation documents, purchasing agreements, and related procurement materials.
• Advise internal stakeholders on procurement strategies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
• Evaluate vendor submissions and support fair, compliant supplier selection processes.
• Establish and maintain supply arrangements, standing offers, and purchasing agreements.
• Monitor contract performance, spending, pricing, and supplier compliance.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and conduct debriefs as needed.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in ERP and purchasing systems.
• Identify procurement risks, escalate complex issues, and support process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 2+ years of public sector procurement experience in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, trade agreements, competitive bidding, and contract compliance.
• Experience preparing RFPs, purchase orders, contracts, and related procurement documents.
• Proficient with ERP/procurement systems and managing purchasing, vendor, and pricing data.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and maintain accuracy.
• Skilled at building relationships with internal teams and suppliers while handling confidential matters professionally.
