Purchasing Manager

Mississauga, ON | Food & Beverage Manufacturing

We are partnering with a growing food and beverage manufacturer in the Mississauga area to hire a Purchasing Manager to support their expanding operations.

About the Opportunity

You will work closely with cross-functional partners to strengthen daily operations, support capacity growth, and help build a productive, well-coordinated manufacturing environment.

This role will play a key part in ensuring continuity of supply, cost control, and vendor performance across a fast-paced, high-volume production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing activities across raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend
• Develop and manage supplier relationships, including negotiations and performance tracking
• Ensure continuity of supply to meet production schedules and customer demand
• Partner with operations, production, QA, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support budgeting initiatives
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier risk
• Support inventory optimization and reduce waste/obsolete stock
• Drive continuous improvement within procurement processes and systems

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of purchasing/procurement experience within food or beverage manufacturing
• Strong understanding of supply chain, production environments, and inventory management
• Experience sourcing ingredients, packaging, and plant-related materials
• Proven ability to negotiate supplier contracts and manage vendor performance
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills (operations, quality, finance, etc.)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
