Property Accountant

Responsibilities:
• Manage complete accounting activities for an assigned property portfolio, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, producing financial statements, and reviewing budget performance.
• Analyze monthly results by comparing actuals to forecasts and budgets, then explain notable variances and the factors influencing property performance.
• Provide accounting support for property transactions such as acquisitions, sales, refinancing, and related financing activities, including required financial setup and follow-up.
• Partner with teams across operations, corporate accounting, investor reporting, payroll, finance, acquisitions, and accounts payable to resolve questions and provide accurate financial insight.
• Contribute to broader portfolio reporting needs by supporting executive summaries, investor reporting packages, property tax matters, reconciliation activities, and lender-related requirements.
• Assist with external and investor-related audits by preparing supporting documentation, responding to requests, and helping ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Prepare year-end working papers and schedules, and support the review of U.S. partnership tax return information for investors where required.
• Evaluate existing workflows and recommend practical improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and support more effective reporting and analysis.
