Our client is looking for a Property Accountant to support a growing portfolio in Calgary, Alberta on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong Yardi experience, solid Excel skills, and a detail-oriented approach to property accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of approximately six residential and/or commercial properties.
• Prepare monthly financial packages and supporting account analysis.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Record accruals, review purchase order activity, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Prepare financial statements and support month-end and period-end close activities.
• Work with accounting and operations teams to resolve property-related accounting issues.
• Use Yardi for accounting workflows, reporting, and property financial data.
• Use Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other tools, to analyze data and improve reporting efficiency. 

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in property accounting or a closely related accounting role.
• Hands-on Yardi experience is required.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and AI-supported spreadsheet tools.
• Experience supporting property portfolios, with residential or commercial exposure considered an asset.
• Proven ability to prepare reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and monthly reporting accurately.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Confident communicator who can collaborate with accounting and operations teams and resolve routine issues independently.
