We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale technology initiatives within the financial services sector in Toronto, Ontario. This Long-term Contract position will oversee complex modernization and data security programs, bringing structure to enterprise-wide planning, governance, and execution. The successful candidate will work closely with technology, security, architecture, risk, and business leaders to guide delivery, manage competing priorities, and support informed decision-making across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the full lifecycle delivery of a large modernization program affecting a broad portfolio of applications, ensuring risks tied to end-of-life technologies are addressed through coordinated remediation plans.
• Lead discovery activities to assess current environments, business impact, technical dependencies, control considerations, and areas requiring risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, and business stakeholders to shape practical paths forward, including refactoring, migration, retirement, or replacement approaches.
• Prepare options analyses, effort and cost estimates, risk evaluations, and executive-ready recommendations to support governance forums and key decisions.
• Build and maintain a structured waterfall-based delivery roadmap with defined milestones, dependency management, phased remediation sequencing, and implementation cutover planning.
• Oversee several concurrent project streams, ensuring each remains aligned with broader program goals, timelines, quality expectations, and regulatory considerations.
• Lead planning and execution for an enterprise data security initiative, including requirements definition, solution assessment, implementation preparation, and organizational rollout.
• Monitor project governance through status reporting, steering committee updates, issue escalation, and clear communication of impacts, constraints, and recommended actions.
• Coordinate cross-functional working sessions to manage interdependencies, resolve delivery challenges, and balance resource demands across technology and business teams.
• 10+ years of experience managing complex, enterprise-level technology projects in a Project Manager or Senior Consultant capacity.
• Demonstrated success delivering waterfall or hybrid delivery programs that require thorough upfront analysis, formal governance, and structured execution.
• Proven ability to lead multiple modernization, remediation, or application transformation workstreams at the same time.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional groups such as IT, Security, Risk, Compliance, Architecture, and business leadership.
• Strong background in technology refactoring, platform migration, application rationalization, or similar enterprise change initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present options, risks, and recommendations clearly to senior executives and stakeholders.
• Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with data governance, information security, privacy requirements, and tools or environments supporting enterprise project delivery is considered an asset.
