Our Fraser Valley client is looking to hire a Project Accountant for their growing team. Reporting to the Director of Finance the Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of residential development projects. Key duties include preparing progress draws, cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, quarterly budget updates, and investor reporting. This Project Accountant also supports project cost coding, job cost reconciliations, joint venture accounting, loan covenant compliance, letters of credit and deposit tracking, year-end close, and ad hoc reporting for Development, Construction, and Sales & Marketing teams. The position also focuses on monitoring project performance metrics, including IRR, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

The successful Project Accountant should have an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and ideally be pursuing their CPA designation or be recently qualified. The ideal candidate will bring 2–5 years of experience in development project or construction accounting, along with ERP experience, strong Excel skills and an analytical, detail-oriented mindset. Experience with financial modelling and process improvement is preferred. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
