A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for sourcing production materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring inventory levels support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment parts, and operational consumables for multiple manufacturing sites
• Monitor inventory levels and generate inventory reports to help maintain continuous production flow
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while securing competitive pricing and favorable terms
• Coordinate and track incoming shipments to ensure materials arrive according to production schedules
• Confirm receipt of purchased items, investigate discrepancies, and resolve receiving issues
• Address supplier invoicing concerns, pricing discrepancies, and non-conforming materials
• Work closely with the Accounting team to reconcile invoice and purchase order variances
• Support sourcing initiatives through RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluations
• Gather pricing information and supplier quotations to support capital equipment purchases
• Arrange and coordinate external maintenance and service providers as required
• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and commercial terms
• Coordinate equipment and machinery rental requirements
• Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, issuance, monitoring, and closure
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and service partners
• Ensure compliance with company policies, including health and safety standards and confidentiality requirements
• Contribute to additional procurement and supply chain projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, or supplier management within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Exposure to strategic sourcing and vendor performance management
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
