- Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
- Acquire intellectual property rights
- Advise in the interpretation and delivery of the performance
- Arrange film segments into sequences to achieve continuity and desired effects
- Assemble the advertising and media teams
- Assemble the creative team
- Audition and cast performers for roles
- Coordinate production in various fields including film, television, video game, radio, dance and theatre
- Determine scheduling of production
- Determine treatment and scope of production
- Edit motion picture film based on the director's vision
- Ensure details follow the project's original intention
- Interpret scripts
- Locate funding for the project
- Monitor the project's success after release
- Organize production in fields including dance or theatre
- Organize production in fields including film and television
- Organize production of video games
- Oversee the process of hiring actors and crew members for the production
- Supervise staff or team
- Create dances for film, theater and television
- Hire and dismiss staff
- Direct rehearsals for dancers to achieve desired interpretation
- Plan, organize and direct the artistic aspects of production
- Oversee the design of sets, costumes, furnishings and props
- Plan and co-ordinate the production of musical recordings
- Direct musicians and singers during rehearsals and recording
- Co-ordinate and direct the photography of production
- Determine lighting, lenses, camera angles and backgrounds
