We are looking for a detail-oriented Plant Accountant to support financial operations within a wood and furniture manufacturing environment in Scarborough, Ontario. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, monitoring inventory-related financial activity, and helping the business close each reporting period efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with operational and finance teams to strengthen reporting accuracy, support day-to-day accounting processes, and contribute to informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice handling, billing support, and payment tracking.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies by following up on outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Support month-end close activities by compiling entries, reviewing balances, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
• Track inventory-related transactions and help ensure manufacturing costs and stock movements are reflected correctly in the accounting records.
• Review and reconcile intercompany transactions to confirm balances are properly recorded across related entities.
• Generate regular financial reports for management, highlighting trends, variances, and items requiring attention.
• Assist with accounting tasks within Dynamics and contribute to accurate data management across financial systems.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance position, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, general accounting principles, and month-end close procedures.
• Practical experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and the financial impact of production and stock movement.
• Ability to prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience working with intercompany transactions and maintaining organized supporting documentation.
• Proficiency using Dynamics or similar accounting software, along with solid spreadsheet skills.
