We are supporting a client in identifying a PCB Layout Engineer to assist with an initial project focused on converting existing designs from KiCad to Altium Designer. This is a flexible, part-time contract opportunity with the potential for ongoing project-based work.

Overview

The successful candidate will support an internal hardware initiative, beginning with a boiler simulator PCB project. This engagement will start as a short-term conversion project and may evolve into longer-term, as-needed support for additional Altium-based design work.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert existing PCB designs from KiCad to Altium Designer
• Support an internal boiler simulator project, including layout updates and refinements
• Implement a small set of design fixes and improvements
• Prepare finalized PCB designs for release/manufacturing
• Provide ongoing, ad hoc PCB layout support for future Altium projects

Qualifications

• Proven experience with PCB layout and design
• Strong proficiency in Altium Designer
• Working knowledge of KiCad, with experience converting designs between platforms
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with minimal oversight
• Experience preparing designs for production/release is preferred

Engagement Details

• Contract Type: Part-time / project-based
• Duration: Initial 3-month engagement, with potential for extension
• Hours: Flexible; work can be completed alongside other commitments
• Location: Fully remote
