Robert Half is partnering with a client to identify a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a deadline-driven environment and takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and providing excellent internal support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer payroll for employees working across multiple provinces, ensuring compliance with varying provincial requirements and employment standards
• Process payroll within a unionized environment, including application of collective agreement provisions where applicable
• Review timesheets, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings for accuracy
• Maintain employee payroll records and update information as needed
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and year-end payroll activities
• Manage payroll-related benefit administration, including enrollments, deductions, and updates
• Calculate and validate commissions, retirement contributions, pension deductions, garnishments, and workers’ compensation remittances
• Support audits and provide payroll documentation when requested

• Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist
• Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and standard payroll procedures
• Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

This Payroll Specialist opportunity is 30-hours per week with flexibility to work Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday
