Robert Half is partnering with a client to hire an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and lead payroll operations for a growing organization. This position is ideal for a payroll professional with strong compliance knowledge, leadership experience, and a track record of ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full payroll cycle
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments
• Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax laws and reporting requirements
• Supervise payroll staff and provide coaching, training, and performance support
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and tax filings
• Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal teams to support employee data accuracy and payroll changes
• Lead payroll audits and support year-end activities
• Evaluate payroll procedures and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency and controls
• Assist with payroll system updates, implementations, and process documentation
• Respond to employee and management inquiries related to payroll matters

• Previous experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
