Interim Payroll Manager

About the Role

Our client, a private equity-backed global manufacturer is seeking an Interim Payroll Manager / Consultant to step in immediately for a 3–6-month contract.

This is a standalone, highly hands-on individual contributor role reporting to the Director.

Key Requirements

·      Strong hands-on ADP payroll experience

• ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Complex union payroll experience required (all provinces)
• Recent full-cycle payroll processing experience
• Experience with hourly, shift-based, overtime-heavy payroll
• Ability to work independently in a standalone payroll role

Strongly Preferred

• Manufacturing / 24/7 / blue-collar environment
• ADP WFN implementation, conversion, or parallel payroll run experience
• Multi-entity / multi-pay-frequency payroll

Payroll Environment

• 600 employees (including acquisitions)
• 4 legal entities / multiple payrolls
• Weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls
• Complex salaried and hourly payroll populations
• Automated time clocks and supervisor approvals
• Automated GL integration into Epicor
• Benefits, pension, 401(k), reconciliations, reporting, and audits included

Qualifications

·     5+ years of recent, hands-on full-cycle payroll experience.

·     Strong ADP payroll experience required; ADP Workforce Now a must.

·     Proven experience processing complex union payroll across multiple provinces.

·     Experience with hourly, shift-based, and overtime-heavy payroll environments.

·     Ability to independently manage payroll in a standalone role with minimal supervision.

·     Experience supporting multiple legal entities and multiple pay frequencies, including weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly payrolls.

·     Exposure to benefits, pension, 401(k), reconciliations, reporting, and audit support.

·     ADP Workforce Now implementation, conversion, or parallel payroll run experience strongly preferred.

·     U.S. payroll exposure considered an asset.
