We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our client in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will oversee payroll processing with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality while supporting benefits-related administration. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain reliable records, contribute to continuous improvement, and help uphold a safe, collaborative, and quality-driven workplace.
Responsibilities:
• Administer bi-weekly payroll for a mid-sized employee group, ensuring all earnings, deductions, and adjustments are processed correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain complete and accurate payroll and benefits records, keeping employee information and supporting documentation current.
• Review payroll data for discrepancies, investigate issues promptly, and resolve them in coordination with employees and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with benefits administration by updating enrollments, changes, and related payroll impacts in accordance with company policies.
• Prepare payroll-related reports and records that support departmental planning, audits, and informed decision-making.
• Contribute to a thorough and team-oriented environment by communicating clearly, sharing information, and helping resolve operational challenges.
• Follow workplace safety, quality, and internal compliance standards while supporting initiatives that strengthen efficiency and consistency.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, documentation practices, and overall service delivery within the department.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration.
• Hands-on experience processing Canadian payroll accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
• Proven ability to manage bi-weekly payroll for an employee population of approximately 100 to 300 employees.
• Working knowledge of payroll functions, including deductions, adjustments, and payroll record maintenance.
• Experience supporting benefits-related administration and coordinating changes that affect employee payroll.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work reliably in a team-focused environment.
