Our client, a well-established and growing Canadian organization, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team in the Tri-Cities area. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and is looking to join a collaborative, people-focused organization.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing full-cycle payroll for over 500+ union and non-union employees across multiple locations while ensuring compliance with employment standards, collective agreements, and company policies.

Please note: This is a 16-month maternity leave coverage with the potential for extension or permanent employment based on business needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for 500+ unionized and non-unionized employees.

• Process garnishments, off-cycle payments, terminations, and Records of Employment (ROEs).

• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.

• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4-related inquiries and reporting.

• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, rehires, compensation changes, and employee information updates.

• Prepare payroll reconciliations and various payroll-related reports, including union dues and seniority reporting.

• Monitor and communicate payroll and timekeeping discrepancies to internal stakeholders.

• Provide payroll and timekeeping system training to new employees as required.

• Stay current with employment standards legislation, collective agreements, and payroll best practices.

• Contribute to process improvements and payroll documentation updates.

• Support additional payroll and administrative projects as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a high-volume environment.

• Experience processing both unionized and non-union payroll.

• PCP designation, or progress toward certification, is considered an asset.

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar payroll system is preferred.

• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and employment standards.

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

The compensation range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible hybrid work environment.
