Payroll Administrator

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate administrative support for recurring people programs such as benefits enrolment periods, compensation reviews, payroll year-end activities, wellness initiatives, and other workforce-related projects.
• Handle day-to-day payroll and benefits administration, including onboarding paperwork, employee enrolments, departures, and updates to compensation or job information.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HR and payroll systems, including Dayforce, and keep data current in line with system changes and business needs.
• Partner with the People Operations team to refine procedures, document workflows, and improve the efficiency of payroll and HR activities.
• Review and process monthly invoice payments on schedule, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, including off-cycle payments when required.
• Compare timesheet information against payroll registers to identify discrepancies and support accurate payroll submission.
• Prepare payroll-related reporting for monthly, quarterly, and year-end periods, including earnings, statutory deductions, and benefits information for management review.
• Support compliance efforts by following applicable employment standards and responding to audits, testing activities, special projects, and other assigned tasks.
• At least 3 years of experience in payroll, human resources, or a closely related function.
• Post-secondary education in business administration, human resources, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience administering payroll and benefits, with hands-on knowledge of Dayforce or similar payroll platforms.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with comfort working in payroll and HR systems.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling employee data, payroll entries, and reporting.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage confidential information appropriately and exercise sound judgement when dealing with sensitive matters.
• Proven ability to organize competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
