We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our clients team in Ottawa, Ontario. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and supporting HR functions within a non-profit environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful organizational goals while utilizing your expertise in payroll and human resources.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for approximately 100 salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
• Handle payroll reconciliations and maintain detailed records for auditing purposes.
• Support HR operations by assisting with onboarding, preparing offer letters, and managing workflow development.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline payroll and HR processes, enhancing overall efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and employment standards in all payroll-related activities.
• Utilize payroll software, such as Ceridian and ADP Workforce Now, for accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Manage benefit administration, including enrollments and updates, to maintain employee satisfaction.
• Generate reports using Crystal Reports to provide insights into payroll and HR operations.
• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits with professionalism and clarity.
• Assist in implementing best practices for payroll and HR management within the organization.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and HR functions, preferably within a non-profit organization.
• Proficiency in payroll systems such as Ceridian, ADP Workforce Now, and accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, benefit administration, and compliance with employment standards.
• Experience with Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools for generating detailed reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Solid understanding of tax regulations and their application in payroll processing.
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Strong communication skills to address payroll and HR inquiries professionally.
