THE ROLE:

Our client is seeking an experienced Manager, Operations Accounting for a long-term contract opportunity supporting a complex and dynamic operational environment. This position will oversee a team of accounting professionals, drive process improvements, and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of operational accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead accounting activities related to operational costs including fuel, airport, and crew expenditures
• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Manage and mentor a team of six accounting professionals across multiple operational accounting functions
• Partner with operational stakeholders to enhance processes, reporting accuracy, and financial controls
• Support internal and external audit requirements and respond to audit inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, including CSOX requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and optimize accounting processes

You are a CPA-designated accounting leader with strong operational accounting expertise gained within a large, complex organization. You have experience supporting multiple business units, managing consolidations, and leading teams in a fast-paced environment. Known for your analytical mindset and collaborative approach, you build strong relationships across departments while maintaining a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• CPA designation
• Progressive accounting leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities
• Experience within a large organization supporting multiple business units and consolidations
• Strong operational accounting background with a focus on business operations rather than pure financial analysis
• Proven experience managing month-end close activities
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and Lookups
• Experience working with and maintaining CSOX compliance requirements
• Ability to partner effectively with operational and business stakeholders
• Strong audit support and internal controls experience
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and committed to continuous improvement
• Experience with JD Edwards considered an asset
• Exposure to Power Query or other advanced Excel automation tools considered an asset
