We are looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead core financial reporting activities for an Edmonton based organization in the energy transition sector. This position oversees financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies while helping strengthen reporting accuracy, compliance, and close processes. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and external advisors to support audits, tax compliance, and reliable financial information for operational and corporate decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring information is complete, timely, and decision-ready.

• Direct consolidation activities for a multi-entity, multi-currency structure and maintain accuracy across reporting packages.

• Monitor compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements and incorporate changes into reporting practices.

• Produce internal financial reports, including divisional analysis and variance commentary, to support business performance reviews.

• Partner with operational accounting teams to improve the quality of financial data and shorten month-end and year-end close timelines.

• Design, maintain, and enhance internal controls over financial reporting to promote consistency and accountability across entities.

• Coordinate annual external audit activities, manage deliverables, and act as a key contact for auditors throughout the audit cycle.

Requirements:

• Accounting designation such as CPA or an equivalent credential.

• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit roles servicing publicly traded organizations.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles, including US GAAP.

• Familiarity with audit processes and internal control frameworks.

• Experience in manufacturing, mining, services, or a similarly complex operating environment is considered an asset.
