Robert Half is partnering with a large, well-established organization to identify an experienced Manager, Accounts Payable. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who excels at driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and implementing process improvements within a complex, high-volume accounts payable environment.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Manager, Accounts Payable will oversee the full accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor transactions. The successful candidate will lead a large team of AP professionals, strengthen internal controls, optimize workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support overall financial performance and working capital objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the end-to-end accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor management, and expense administration.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounts payable leaders and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain effective policies, procedures, and internal controls to support accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Ensure vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately and within established timelines.
• Partner with procurement, operations, and finance teams to improve procure-to-pay processes and resolve transactional issues.
• Monitor cash disbursements and payment activities to support effective working capital management while maintaining positive vendor relationships.
• Oversee vendor onboarding and master data governance to ensure accurate records and seamless payment processing.
• Maintain compliance with internal control requirements, audit standards, and applicable regulatory obligations.
• Review and approve payment runs, reconciliations, and other accounts payable activities.
• Analyze departmental metrics and reporting to identify trends, mitigate risk, and recommend process enhancements.
• Champion automation initiatives and technology improvements across accounts payable systems and workflows.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation and responding to information requests.
• Collaborate with finance and operational leaders to support broader organizational objectives and strategic initiatives.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within accounts payable, or in a shared services environment.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a complex or high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable operations, vendor management, payment cycles, and financial controls.
• Experience developing and enhancing policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
• Solid understanding of audit requirements, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging ERP systems and financial technologies to improve efficiency and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
• CPA designation or other relevant professional certification is considered an asset.
