Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, cash flow projections, and analysis to support executive leadership and Board reporting.
- Perform revenue recognition analysis and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with ASPE.
- Support annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Review GST/HST filings and help ensure timely compliance with reporting requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and treasury reporting activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including optimization of SAGE 300 for reporting and operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with ASPE and internal control policies.
- Lead, mentor, and support development across finance team functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting.
- Liaise with external auditors and support annual audit requirements.
- Contribute to finance transformation, process enhancement, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems; familiarity with SAGE 300 is considered an asset.
- Experience in restaurant, retail, foodservice, or a related industry is an asset, but not required.
