A well-established law firm in Toronto is seeking a qualified and motivated Labour and Employment Lawyer to join its growing practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse workplace law matters in a collaborative environment, engaging directly with clients across a range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on all aspects of labour and employment law, including wrongful dismissal, employment contracts, human rights, workplace investigations, occupational health and safety, and collective bargaining.
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, contracts, policies, and opinions with attention to detail and adherence to legal best practices.
• Represent clients before courts, administrative tribunals, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Conduct legal research and stay current on legislative developments and case law affecting employee and employer rights and obligations.
• Collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals and provide prompt, solution-oriented guidance to clients.
• Contribute to business development initiatives through networking, client engagement, and thought leadership.
• Manage files independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of client service and professional ethics.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience practising employment or labour law.
• Demonstrated expertise in employment law matters, including wrongful dismissal, human rights, and workplace policies.
• Proficiency in using case management and document management software such as Adobe Acrobat and Conveyancer.
• Strong drafting skills with experience preparing contracts, motions, and legal documents.
• Excellent advocacy skills with a proven track record of success in trials or hearings.
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Familiarity with legal processes and standards in Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice.
