As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance department with various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Reporting to the Controller, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Junior Accountant will collaborate closely with other members of the finance team to maintain financial records, analyze data, and support overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and practices, a positive outlook, and strong communication skills.

Duties:

• Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, payment preparation, vendor reconciliations, and issue resolution.
• Support project-related Accounts Payable activities by tracking project expenses, coding invoices to the appropriate projects and cost centres, and ensuring accurate cost allocation.
• Prepare bank and corporate credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, prepare journal entries, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, support audits and tax reporting, maintain accurate financial records, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting or Accounts Payable experience in a multi-entity environment (would consider someone strong from single entity) - this is not high volume but it is complex invoices, some may need to be coded to 30 projects - need to be very organized
• Experience with ERP Systems and Excel Pivot tables and V Lookups
• Strong communication skills and personable they will be communicating with internal external parties daily
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
